Has anyone had a problem with Axia University of Phoenix? Please help!?
Okay I have signed up with Axia had my FAFSA sent and paid the app fee. My addmission couselor told me that I would know how much aid I am getting before my Aug. 27th start date. Now my financial couselor (I've had 2 different ones allready) tells me that I can't get awarded aid till 60-90 days after I start class. I have been on ripoffreport.com and have heard HORRIBLE things about this college. I have applied for stafford loan through Wells Fargo & one lady said she had to pay Wells Fargo back her student loan even though she never attended Axia b/c they ripped her off. I want to attend college to better my families life we live paycheck to paycheck and I cannot be screwed out of $ I don't have! I was set up for school at a college 4hrs away and then my eye sight went blurry one day and had to have EXPENSIVE Dr. bills & shots in my eye so I canceled moving my family and decided to keep my full time job and do online college now I am SO worried and how do I cancel class with them
I am in the second block at Axia University and I was very concerned before I started the program. It did take 90 days to get the funds allotted to me. They actually have to wait to see if you will pass the class before FAFSA will send the money. Just hang in there and you will be happy. I also went on line and gathered all kinds of neg. information. Got myself con fussed. But took the plunge and have had no problems. I passed my first two classes with As and very proud of myself. It was not easy as on line learning can be difficult for some. I got my money and instead of paying the loan for the first payment, I decided to get a laptop to help me in my educational work. Glad I did. Next payment I will pay the loan. You should know I have gotten unconditional help from my counselor., support tech, the teachers and the peers. Don't make it so stressful for yourself. This school is highly recommended and because some have had problems mostly due to their own misunderstandings they try to make the school look bad. Just so you know, there for awhile, I was talking to my counselor. every single day getting help with my homework and any other problems I thought I had. Hope this clears your mind. Go for it and get your education in the way that is most convenient for you and your family.
